2016 Ohio State Champions!

On May 21 we competed at the 3rd Annual State Championship, held in Columbus this year. We were chosen by the number one alliance, Team 4028, and then joined by Teams 2603 and 2172. Our alliance worked efficiently to earn us our first state title!

2016 Curie Champions!

We attended the World Championships this past April and came home with a Curie divisional winner banner!

We were the number eight alliance on the Curie field, competing alongside Teams 694 and 3339. We passed through quarter, semi, and finals despite the fact that our hanging mechanism had just been declared illegal.

We then continued to the championship field, Einstein, and competed until we were eliminated in quarterfinals.

This is the best we have done thus far in the history of our team. Our team is very thankful for all the support we have received to make it this far at Worlds!

2016 Buckeye Regional Finalists

This past weekend at the Buckeye Regional in Cleveland, Ohio, Team 379 earned Finalist medals & trophies. We advanced through quarter and semi-finals, but were defeated in our final match by a heartbreaking one point.

A big congratulations is also in order for our sophomore Avery Tinkey, who won the FIRST Robotics Dean’s List Award this past weekend at Buckeye. Avery is our very first Dean’s List Award winner, and will be traveling to the World Championship in St. Louis to vie for the World Championship Dean’s List Award.

The FIRST Robotics Dean’s List Award celebrates outstanding student leaders whose passion for and effectiveness in leading their teams and communities to increased awareness for FIRST Robotics while achieving personal technical expertise and accomplishments. The FIRST Dean’s List Award has attracted the attention of prestigious colleges and universities who desire to have winning students apply for admissions. Congratulations Avery Tinkey!
